Profile: Danny Hughes

Personal background
I'm a 2nd year PhD computing research student at Lancaster University in the North West of England. I'm interested in Distributed Systems, specifically Peer-to-Peer systems and I'm currently working on a reflective and dynamic P2P network suitable for supporting truely diverse applications. You can find out more about me, my work and how to contact me on my website: www.dannyhughes.org
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
SETI@home is Great. I love being able to put my spare CPU cycles to good use, though the number of PCs I have on the project has dwindled somewhat :-( I currently have a 2.8GHz/512MB Sony Vaio running the XP Client, a 700MHz/256MB Evesham running the Linux Client and a 1GHz/512MB Homebrew Duron running the XP Client intermittently. When will we see a PocketPC / WindowsMobile client!? My 400MHz PDA is sitting idle most of most days on a high speed connection - that's a lot of CPU time a-wasting! ;-)
