| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

It would be total ignorance to think that we are alone at any given time. We may have already "found" extraterrestrial life but don't know how to interpret what our human intuition is reporting back; Thus, needing science to quantify and qualify that in which we cannot see.
Humans are already transmiting beacons for "others" to find in the way of various frequencies and how "others" interprete that beacon is not up to us. We can't say that we'll transmit a signal of peace and tranquility and gurantee that they'll understand, we can barely do that amonge ourselves.
I'm running seti on an SGI Octane2, HP C Class and x86 700MHz at work, and x86 1GHz at home. I think this is a great way to keep my boxes busy. |
