Personal background
Hi there! Being a major computer freak, well, not as bad as you might think, in front of my PCs is my most frequented place in our house. :) I was born on 18/08/1983, so you can calculate my age yourself... Well, my hobbies else than Computers are bicycles, Capoeira, Holiday camps and reading. I'm mostly interested in phylosophical books and related. i.e. Hermann Hesse (Demian, Steppenwolf, Unterm Rad, etc...) But I now mainly read science-fiction. Right now I´m reading all of the Dune Books from Frank Herbert! Reading computer magazines (c't, iX, Linux Magazin) takes the biggest part of my reading-time.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Right now, I've 4 PCs running Seti@home and I'm looking forward to running it on 3 more PCs...
Extraterrestrial life must exist, there are so many solar systems and galaxies out there, how can't there be any other "blue-planet"? Personnally, for humankind, I don't think we're yet ready for discovery of aliens. World is too "war-oriented" and as a matter of fact, I'd think most people'd fear the unknown races and want to eliminate them, rather than to take contact.. Sad, but true I'd say.
Nevertheless, sending out a beacon to space ourselves would be a great idea, and as I know, it is already done, isn't it? Daily headlines of the world's biggest TV broadcasting centers would certainly be the best material for this matter....
