Personal background
I'm a 42 year old Dutchman from Fryslan (north of the Netherlands) but living on Zeeuws Vlaanderen (South of the Netherlands). I work full time at a Research department of an American Chemical Companie (Dow Chemicals). I've got a lot of hobbies of which the most important are sports, computers and the stock markets. I'm single (which suits me) and have no children (as far as I know)
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
The Seti project is a long shot. If there's life out there, we might never find them. Reasons for that are : 1 That life has to be at a evolutional level so they can be found (if they don't (aren't able to) send anything into space we won't find them. 2 That life may not be too far evolved yet otherwise we are not interested enough for them and they may not want to be found (and we can't because they are technical far enough not to be detected by us) But hey, you never know, so that's why I'm participating.
