I am a retired U.S. Foreign Service Officer, working as an Independent Contractor for the last three years. As for my age, I just turned 61 this past summer. My hobbies include collecting videos (preferrably DVDs and LaserDiscs). My favorites have always included Science Fiction. Therefore my interest lies in seeking SETI. My family shares my interests.
When time permits I surf the internet for interesting programs and URLS. SETI@home is definitely one of my favorite sites.
I possess two computers at home and both run the SETI program as a screensaver. |
| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

I do believe that Extraterrestrial life exists and hope that it is discovered in my lifetime. The benefits are self-evident for the fields of technology and improvment of our way of life. The danger is that we could contact a species that is not friendly, however, I do believe that any life that is contacted will most likely be so far advanced than our society that they most likely will be above us intellectually. I pray that their society will be above the idea of death and destruction.
I dream of the possibility of communicating with such life. SETI@home is run daily in my home and I hope that the project continues indefinitely. I would gladly assist in any fund raising that is deemed needed. |
