Profile: Libby & Tim (SSSF)

Personal background
I'm 34 and live in southern NSW, Australia with my partner, Tim, and two cats. We live in a house with a lovely patch of remnant vegetation bordering the block which is full of birds, possums and other wildlife. I am a civilian intelligence analyst with the NSW Police having changed careers from biology to this about 2 yrs ago, mainly due to the lack of job opportunities/job security in the biological arena. I love my new work, and in reality it's just been a shift from studying the habits of wildlife to the habits of humans.

I would love the have the time to indulge my interest in photography and gardening amongst other things.

I was introduced to SETI via the SSSF (Self Service Science Forum - http://www2b.abc.net.au/science/k2/stn/ )Team however due to a recent SETI glitch have had to create a new account so am no longer functioning as part of that team.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run SETI because my computer down time might as well be put to practical use, and I know how time consuming processing large amounts of data can be. I hold hope that Earth isn't just a "one off" - after all there's an awful lot of space out there, the odds can't possibly be that long ....... can they?
