Personal background
Hello everyone there searching for extra terrestrials!
I live in Thessaloniki, Greece. I am a computer science
undergratuate student aged 21.
My hobbies are of course computers, programming, artificial intelligence
winter skiing, music, movies, women and all the regular stuff people
in my age do!
I just love the idea that there could be some other intelligent being
out there...
And like a quote in the famous movie "Contact" with Jodie Foster
"But I guess I'd say if it is just us... seems like an awful waste of space."
cheers MoSs

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
First of all excuse my english, I'm from Greece and I might make spelling/syntax mistakes.

1.Do you think extraterrestrial life exists? If so, when and how will humans discover it? What are the possible benefits and dangers of such a discovery?
Answer:
Statisticly speaking I believe that in a such infinite space, chances are that there exists another life form apart from what we already know. Otherwise it'd be an awful waste of space...
I believe that we still lack the technology power to discover such a thing, and if we do in the recent future, it will be from pure luck. It is a huge sky, there is an infinite frequency spectrum, it is impossible to monitor the whole of it simultaneously without missing something...
For the benefits or dangers of such a discovery it is very difficult to have an opinion. Everything is possible. Either there will be no benefits at all and in worst case scenario it will have disastrous consequenses, or it will be very beneficial by learning new technologies, new civilizations and even give answers to historical/worldwide questions like the meaning of life, what happens after death (probably nothing, scientifically speaking), the answer to the creation of the universe, etc...

2. Should humans transmit a beacon for others to find? If so, what information should we send?
Answer:
I believe that humans should transmit a beacon for others to find and the information that we should send is just a "Hello we are here, we exist" nothing else...

3. Why do you run SETI@home? What are your views about the project? Any suggestions?
Answer:
I run seti@home just to help into the analysis of the frequencies that seti gets, I don't expect to find anything it is a very small part... But then again who knows! Maybe I will be lucky and find something interesting...
I believe the guys there at SETI are doing an amazing and most important work.
