Profile: Ron Kilday

Personal background
I am 60, and live in New Hill, North Carolina, USA. I am disabled with MS, but am a retired satellite communications engineer. My hobbies are amateur astronomy, computers, and science fiction. I currently have five computers running Seti@home software, and hope to have more. My living room isn't quite full yet!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run Set@home because I do believe there is much life out there beyond our own tiny, little corner of this galaxy. And, as a Christian, it wouldn't startle me at all, to find that Our Father had created many other forms of intelligent, self aware beings. Who knows how many variations of self image He created? Who knows if He ever got it right? What are the chances we are alone, with billions of other worlds in the universe? It does seem to me though, if there were other advanced life forms out there, we would have already intercepted some form of communications from them. Some type of transmission, be it audio, video, or just some unexplainable spike on the spectrum analyzer. Not a transmission aimed at us, just some innocuous little message from one alien to another.
