Profile: Don Reese

Personal background
Been writing software since 1972, started on an old (at that time) IBM 1401 and discovered I enjoyed the work. Was completely focused on computers until I hit 40 and entered by first childhood (was too serious as a kid). Now more interested in playing with cars that computers, but computers still pay the bills.

Attended PEL program at Eckerd College, graduated in 2000.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I have always believed that there is more intelligent life than just what is found on this planet. Have even seen some pretty strange things in the pre-dawn skys down here in Florida.

So why not help in the search? Many of my computers are not all that fast, but are on most of the time and idle at least 10 hours of the day (some more like 20). Might as well use that idle time to do some number crunching.

I would like to see a version of setiathome that runs as an NT service so that I would not have to leave my accounts logged in.
