Personal background
I am now a software engineer working in a company that makes HP pc's. I say now as I deem nothing is unchanging.

My place of birth is Taiwan, I also hold a British passport having lived in England for 12 years since I was 9. However I am not 21 but 24 years old as I currently reside in The Netherlands for 2 years and a bit because of my current job. I am lucky to travel the World and see the people and the wonders as my father is an avid traverler. I would recommend everyone to take a look around, take a look at Earth for it will give you a different perspective, and perhaps open your mind as I hope my mind is.

My first computer was an Amiga1500 which I pestered my parents to get for over a year when I was 15. Though I mostly played games on the Amiga, this now antique got me into computing. I guess main reason I got into computing is because of the facination that beige box can display wonderous moving colours on the screen.

Everything I taught myself, I always broke my toys to find out how they were made. I never believed in qualifications, the bit of paper that says you've passed the exam. I aways believed that if you are capable, you will get what you want, whether its a job, or a dream.

I think I am an Earth Child. I would work for food if I could stop polution, the cutting down of trees, reduce the draining of natral resources. It is difficult as for my love of technology is an expensive hobbie. Hypocriticle maybe, though I would think that this path of life is an honorable one if I so choose it. The only thing stopping me taking this path is for the fear of dissappointing my parents.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think extraterrestrial life exists. It's said time and time again that it would be arrogant to think not, and that I agree. Benefits? I think the benefits are unlimited. I believe the human race needs to be humbled. For those claim to speak for god, those with power, those with money, those who have authority who abuse their rights. Know this, Power Comes With Resposibility. For if ignored power will lead you to oblivion.

I run SETI@home for the hope of finding other intelligent life.

For how can we grow and improve ourselves if we think we are the greatest, the best, or the only life in this universe?

I run SETI@home because I think it is an Honorable deed. To hope it will find something that will give us a different perspective. To open our minds.

I ask you. What honorable deeds have you in your life?
