Personal background
I first learned about SETI at the Museum of Science in Boston Ma.
I took my kids to a planetarium show and they talked about SETI.
Ever since, I have been running at least two PCs and sometimes up to
six PCs 24/7. I buy a motherboard with some extra cash one week.
The next week I’ll buy something else for the new PC. I’ll finish
building it and the first thing I do is to start up SETI on it to see
how fast it runs. It’s a great hobby.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. Yes! I believe extraterrestrial life exists. It's just a matter of time before we verify it. I think there will be a lot of rethinking of religion, you know the whole "in God's image" thing.

2. We have been transmitting beacons for years! TV and radio signals are a huge beacon pointing right to our planet. They (extraterrestrials) have checked us out and found that we are not a threat to them. They will check back with us in a few decades.

3. I run SETI because I wanted to be a part of the largest distributed multi-processing project in the world. Also it would be nice to find something!
