Profile: ancient mariner

Personal background
II just returned from a four week trip from New York to Brest. We sailed on the norwegian sailtraining ship
"Stadsraad Lehmkuhl". In the warm and clear nights on the Atlantic Ocean I had much time to think about the sky and the stars. I have never seen such a clear and dark sky. On the other side there where nights when a cold moon shone on the 25 foot waves to the sound of the wind in the rigging. With all those stars out there it would be a waste of effort if we were alone in the universe. So lets find them.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run the Linux version of seti@home on my home computer since March 2001. I think
there must be something out there in the universe. So I try to help finding it.
