Profile: Sandy

Personal background
Hi, My name is Sandy and I live in Irving, Texas. I am 37-years old, but tend to view life like I'm still a little girl.

In the past year and a half, I have transitioned into a new career that involves providing technical support in a help desk environment. This is basically starting from the bottom, until I can work myself up to my degree field: Computer Network Engineering.

I love anything and everything computer-related; especially researching new technologies, or reading about new scientific theories. That is actually what drew me to the SETI Project; and the fact that I get to help by lending my computer's cpu time is awesome!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run SETI@home because I believe in the project, and feel it has a great chance of succeeding in its mission.

My gut tells me that we are DEFINITELY not alone in this Universe; so it would seem crazy to me for us not to search.

I would love it if I could see more data about my part in the search, such as:
~ What location in the sky was scanned for the data I am processing?
~ What area around my patch of sky has already been scanned?
~ Why do the dates always fluctuate back and forth on the data I am processing?
~ Will I ever be able to select what data I would like to process?

I wish we were at a point that we could expand our searching capabilties, and explore the stars by traveling through space. But until then, I will forever remain optimistic and faithful in our ability to achieve success by using what is available to us now.

Good Luck To Us All!
