Yes, absolutely extraterrestrial life exists! It is arrogant to the most extreme to think and believe otherwise. I think humans have already discovered it... Dangers? I could imagine all sorts of things, but nothing any worse than human does to human right here on earth. Benefits? I don't know. I only have hope.
Yes, we should transmit a beacon of sorts. I think we should transmit music since it is very expressive. Also some math and engineering stats would probably be appropriate.
