Profile: Chris and Terri Morgan

Personal background
My wife, Terri and I live in St. Louis, MO. She works in an office, I'm in communications with a local police department. We're both over 21 at least a couple of times; 'nuff said! She's an avid crafts-type person, and loves cross stitching and rug hooking. I'm into genealogy and astronomy with my little 8" Meade Dob that I take out on the rare clear night here in St. Louis.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
ET Life? I don't see why not. This universe seems just too big to be for us alone, and perhaps one day "they" may visit us and not be too secretive. Can you imagine the secrets they will bring us, and the hysteria that will follow. The biggest problem we will have to deal with is our own egocentric ideas about how important we are in the universe. This is a big place out there, and we're but mere specks in it. The history of mankind, all our beliefs, and our religious backgrounds will be shaken pretty hard.

Should we be sending beacons out for "others" to find? We've been doing it since the first words were spoken over a radio. Imagine what the equivalent "SETI" projects must look like on the other side of our galaxy, or beyond. This is why I run the project. I believe that a worthy project can be shared by all, but it is important for each of us to contribute what we can to our ability. We were given brains, we need to use them.
