1. Yes i do believe there is life out there. Why? Have you looked at the sky at night. For there to be to be so many stars and planets but no life in my mind is just impossible.
2. Should we transmit via beacon, i don't think we need to really. After all so much of our radio, television etc. signals are bleeding into space anyways that if someone else is looking we are hard to miss. I would say wait till a we detect a signal then target that area and send a signal. as for what to send, i would have to leave that in the hands of someone more capable.
3. I run seti simply because it is valuable research and it costs me nothing to run it.
