Profile: DAVID G, MORGAN

Personal background
I am a retired clinical psychologist. I am handicapped and bedridden. I used to enjoy astronomy and astrophotography, sailing (bluewater) and many other activities. Since my neuromusculal disorder severely limits my activity, I am glad to be able to be of assistance to SETI.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I was very glad to learn about SETI, and especially our ability to participate.Mathematical probability requires extraterrestrial life. Future advancements in science will provide new and exciting ways of learning about our galactic and extragalactic neighbors. I believe in the oneness of all life, even though its form varies. I definitely do not think there is any danger from vastly advanced societies. It is only ignorance generated by limited minds that produces such a fear. When we are ready, socially, mentally and psychologically, we will gain access to what "ET`s" have to teach. I don`t think we need a beacon. Those who are cabable and willing will know of us (and probably already do) long before we are ready to learn from them. One thing I do not think they would do is participate in any of mankinds military projects. The most they may do is protect us from ourselves and our unprepared use of our limited but rapidly growing technologies. It is only through the grace of the infinite that we haven`t blown ourselves up.
