Personal background
I'm 31 and reside in Illinois. Someday hopefully sooner then later I will find myself living quite a bit further south. I'm a Network Engineer for a local college about 30 miles south of Chicago. My main hobby when either budget permits or I get a charter gig :-) is flying, which most other hobbies take a back seat to. I like computers of course, mainly doing extremely custom applications with them. I hit the gym all but a couple nights a week to keep in shape (sitting at a desk all day will kill you quicker then anything).

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
The SETI program is something I have always felt highly of. To be a part of something that is normally reserved for high end scientists is amazing. I have a large farm of machines over here that chew away at the data day and night. I just love to watch the completed work units climb!

At any rate, along with the over 4 million other users here, I do not believe we are alone, to do so would be arrogant, ignorant, and holier then thou. To further that thought: Compared to other lifeforms out there, it is my belief that we are still amoeba. Some may agree, some may disagree, but there is one fact that remains evident: We are by no means the center of the universe.
