I am from London Ontario Canada, retired and in my 70's. Have been crunching seti packets since 1999. Began with a 120 pentium and now run a 2g pentium.I spent most of my working years as a millwright, over the years I have read many sci-fi books giving me an interest in space and what is out there.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
It is hard for me to believe that we are alone in the universe. our search will likely take 50 or more years, finding another specie may be dangerous but is outweighed by the benefits of finding a more advanced one. I do think signals should be sent with simple math equasions and or something easily decoded. I run seti@home because of the possibility that I may help to dicover an inhabited world.I enjoy doing this and would miss it were it to cease.
