Personal background
My name is Scott. I'm just your average-joe 25 year old who lives in Balmain Village.Which is a cute little convict suburb of Sydney,Australia. I can now legally use the title Dr. after *FINALLY* completing my Clinical & Child Psychology degree which has tortured me for the past 5 or so years of my life!
While i was studying & learning to analyse and use as many freudian slips as legally possible. I started to wonder if we really were alone in this big hunk of gas and rock. Things still amaze me on how they were done ... Look at the egyptians.... rumours around put the ancient egyptian pharoahs as the original aliens from outer space, who perfected cute little sandstone pyramids, and how they may possibly be part of a gigantic old landing pad for previous ships that have visited....
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I know most people think we are crazy, But we are not alone, we cant possibly be!
What about Oz's own Aborigines. How on earth did they 40 or 60 odd thousand years ago, learn ... before anyone else and perfect the art of sea borne travel, to come from wherever they did and settle here, then completely forget how to travel by sea for the next 2 or 3 ice ages ..Perhaps they were banished here, or their craft crash landed into the pacific.. and the survivors swam ashore.
Maybe we are the aliens , who were originally put here to build a colony, then something went wrong... Like someone did something bad (maybe the thing about eve biting the apple was really a colonist eating farming supplies before harvest, therefore banishing her and her entire landing crew to live on earth forever as punishment) ... Think about it .....
Or maybe i'm just another crazy psychologist in search of his own answers... Either way, opening your mind unlocks many opportunities!!!
I think seti@home is one of the few opportunities to find life elsewhere... Although I have scary mental flashbacks to that jodie foster film of not so many years ago whenever i think of that bigass transmitter in the jungle... lol
If something is discovered, I sure hope its nothing like what Matt Groening , the writer of futurama "predicts" I sure wouldn't want a neptunian with 4 arms and a pigs nostril cooking my chicken lasange!!!
