I received my degree in electrical-engineering at the University of Hannover, Germany. Currently, I work for the Grid Physics Network (www.griphyn.org) as part of the Computation Institute of the University of Chicago.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
The way SETI distributes load, collects results and verifies results is interesting from the perspective of Grid Computing.
I am a SF&F fan. I wonder, what will happen, if in a few years time, we find that we should have looked for something completely different in all the signal. I also wonder, if information entropy reduced signals and *alien* shaping mechanisms still yield the triples SETI appears to be looking for...
