Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think that extraterrestrial life exists, nobody knows for sure when humans will discover it, thats the fun part :) The possible benefits is that we could share technology perhaps, but the disadvantage is we probarbly won't be able to communicate with them as we cant even talk to the dolphin (an intellegent creature on our own planet). The dangers are if they see us as a waste of space or something and decide to destroy us beacuse of what we've done to the earth (pollution).

Humans should transmit a beacon for others to find, we already have sent one and it contains DNA, HUMAN, LOCATION OF EARTH & THE TABLE OF ELEMENTS.

I run SETI@home so that I can be part of the search for extraterrestrial life, my views are that barely anyone actually uses seti as after completing my first data unit it said I was ahead of 73% of the users. I suggest you make it so if the work unit is not sent in, in 1000 hours it changes unit and gives that user a different one (beacuse people signup and just leave the account idle)
