| I am a native of Arizona,but now reside in Central Pennsylvania. I am a Behavioral Health Professional, but with an earlier career in aerospace engineering. Design and management experience in airframe, missiles and helicopter production. Maintained regular correspondence as a young man with Werner von Braun, Willy Ley, Robert Gross, Col. John Stapp, August Raspet, and General Medaris all of whom encouraged me to study for and enter the aerospace engineering field. They remain some of my greatest personal heroes. |
| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

Extraterrestrial life exists. Where and at what evolutionary stage is still only speculation. Science fiction scenarios all have smatterings of reality and in that regard are prophetic about ETs.
I am hoping we are more mature and civilized before we make contact. Right now we just might exterminate early life forms that we regard as either threatening or just plain different than us.
SETI, and SETI@home are great acts of courage, important scientific inquiry and an abiding faith in the plausibility of life somewhere else within (one) of the universes that we are a part of. I personally run SETI@home because it permits me to participate, however slight, in the eventual first contact. It will come, I just hope I am around when it does. |
