| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

There indeed is et-life. We will not dicover them, they will discover us since they are technologically way more advanced.
But if they are advanced, why should they contact us? Maybe to invade our planet?
Therefore we shouldn't send a signal out into space. And if, then it should say "do not come here!".
Anyway I'm running SETI@home because I want to know, if something is our there.
But after all I think SETI is something good, not only because my PC's running 24/7 and is very bored without SETI, but also 'cause it brings people(s) together.

In der Tat gibt es extraterrestrisches Leben. Wir werden nicht sie, sondern sie und finden, da sie uns technologisch weit voraus sind.
Aber wenn sie uns derart voraus sind, weshalb sollten gerade uns kontaktieren? Vielleicht, um unseren Planeten zu erobern?
Aus diesem Grund sollten wir kein Signal ins All senden. Und falls doch, dann sollte es lauten: "Kommt nicht hier her!".
Wie dem auch sei habe ich SETI@home laufen, weil ich wissen will, ob da draußen etwas ist. Aber summa sumarum denke ich, dass SETI etwas gutes ist, nicht nur, weil mein PC 24/7 läuft und sich ohne SETI langweilen würden, sondern auch, da es Menschen (und Völker) zusammen bringt. |
