Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think that the chance of life elsewhere than on earth is 1, and the chance of intelligent life is very high (we probably even have some on our planet).
I do hope that the Xtians don't kill off the intelligent life forms before we have a chance to get to know them. Perhaps we should try to communicate with non human creatures on their own terms not ours. I do hope that we evolve a bit emotionally before we do meet any ETIs
I run SETI@home because it costs me nothing and may be of some use in the bigger sceme of things.
