Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think if there is no one out there.. it would be just an awful waste of space...hehe quoted form a movie.....
I think that there SHOULD be life somewhere out there... but since it may be so distant we will never reach contact with them using today's technology... maybe not even tomorrow's... you never know in what stage those aliens are in.... if they really are just crab shaped insects or a huge colony of high tech aliens.... i just dont think we can establish contact with othere life forms... maybe detect them, which will already be too difficult.
I run Seti@home because it is a nice sort of challenge/contest like program to see who does most units in less time... also a nice screensaver... it is also an intelligent way of saving tons of money in expensive supercomputers and decypher all data in normal household computers. either way.. like it.
