| I am a 17-year old girl from Finland. I am very interested in cosmology and all things space, but unfortunately I live in such a small community that there aren't any clubs or such things I could join (or much anything else related to natural sciences, for that matter). Fortunately there's SETI@home, so I can do at least something :) |

Does extraterrestial life exist? Well, if I knew, I probably wouldn't participate in looking for it... and then again, if I firmly believed that there ISN'T any extraterrestial life, I probably wouldn't help find it either. I find it very unlikely that there isn't extraterrestial life considering how amazingly large the universe is - but what sort of life, and will humans ever discover it, I don't know.
As for why I'm participating in the project, via SETI@home I can do something to help scientists discover more about the universe, which is always a worthy cause. |
