| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
I'm convinced extraterrestrial life exists. I just can't imagine a galaxy/universe this big without more than one planet with life! Maybe I just read too many sci-fi novels, but I really do believe it - and hope we can make peaceful contact some day.
Though, I must say, most people are probably unprepared for the realit of contact with an "alien" civilization or culture. We're just a little too wrapped up in our own prejeduces to swallow the reality of life beyond earth - especailly if that life is very different from us.
Of course, just about every day I wish for that contact to be made - could you imagine the scientific benefits? I'm still waiting for that damn replicator ;-)
