I am living in Berlin, Germany and I am married with a wonderfull wife.
I am the owner of a small company specialized in writing database applications and measurement systems for the industry and the european space agency.
The primary operating systems I am using are QNX in all flavors (from the beginning QNX2 to the actual QNX RTP), Linux and Windows (for the office).
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I am sure that there is extraterrestrial life. The only question is when we do find anything within the received data. But I also think if we don't find a message from outer space the detailed data analysation from a radio telescope makes sence for itself because the community is able to provide more computer power than any super computer. Possibly this could help finding any new astrophysical phenomens. For a long time my computer has shown the matrix "screen saver". But using the computer power to do some usefull work for the mankind if I don't need the computer for my own work is much more better than blowing away the money (purchasing the computer, running the system) for nothing.
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
