Personal background |
I am a retired surgeon. I was in the USAF, section chief of the Acceleration Section, Aeromedical Laboratory, during the selection of the first Mercury astronauts. I have been interested in astronomy all my life, and in cosmology.
Looking back over my life, one of the high points was meeting Carl Sagan, a young astronomer from Cornell, when I attended a symposium on Bioastronautics at Woods Hole Ma, in 1959 or so. I have enjoyed his books and we will all remember him, always.
I hope the big question is answered before I die. I have always been interested in SETI.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
1. Yes, I believe it is necessarily so, just mathematically. I believe, for space and time reasons, that a conversation with another group is unlikely, but there is much we could learn just from hearing a signal. I do not have any fear of such a contact.
2. Certainly we already do.
3. I like to participate. |
