Personal background |
Formerly a software developer, now in fifties, I don't write any code
for my job, but playing with SETI@home. I participate in translating
web stuff of SETI@home/BOINC and BOINC Managers into Japanese
in order to increase the participants. Yes, I am Japanese. Although
"JE2BWM" and "W2UY" are the call-sign of my amateur radio stations,
nowadays I am scarcely on the air except when I go skiing. |
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
(1. why SETI@home) --> I run SETI@home for my sense of wonder and as a theme
of my hobbies.
(2. My views about the project) --> I believe this project will remain as the flagship of distributed processing on the Internet with much more sense of wonder than other practical projects.
(3. Suggestions ) --> My Suggestion: Please use term "Participants" instead of
"Users" in related projects. In my feeling of words, 'Users' does not
have a meaning that they donate their computing resources to BOINC
projects. |
