Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Well, lets be pessimistic - lets say we are the only planet in this galaxy where "life" developed beyond the "worm"-state (Very unlikely). - Then take a look into the deepsky of the universe and count the galaxies - well, there are a lot of galaxies, right. If there's just one planet with life in every galaxy, then the universe is full of life.

Unfortunately, the galaxies are pretty far away, thats is why we may not ever find anything. But i think it would be stupid not to try and look for it - maybe we are lucky. If we ever should discover anything, i am sure that we would stand in front of a huge task decoding the signals. The question is: will it be a signal intented for us or just parts of random signals (from some Extraterrestrial radiostation). Because of the distances in space there will be no danger involved. (They wouldn't come to visit us next week - thats for sure)

Im convinced we should send something, a repeating signal of somekind. But for a long time (a year or more) and a very powerfull one.
