Profile: Scott C. Palmer

Personal background
I was born in Indiana, i am now 38 years old and a computer tech trying to start my own computer repair shop.

My hobbies till now have been work, work and more work.

I was influenced by Star Trek when I was a kid, which started my interest in computers at the age of 12.

I enjoy supporting Space Research and of NASA, unfortunetly I can't afford to donate monies to my causes.

Thanks :o)
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1) I believe that earth being the only planet to develop sentient life would be incorrect, the odds just wouldn't allow it. The benefits to discovering life would be insight into the origins of life, the possible advancment of our technologies, improved interplanetary travel, etc.

The dangers of such a discovery would be; We'd be food for some other race. :o(

2) I think if we 'the planet earth' expect to find intelligent life in outer space, we would have to transmit a beacon to accomplish it. The information transmitted would have to be decided in a forum.

3) I participate in the Seti@home project because it's the only thing I can afford to do.. :o)

I love that the SETI project is still going and hope to some day visit the SETI Labs.

Sincerely,

Scott C. Palmer
