Personal background
I am a stay at home mom with 4 boys, ages 7, 5, 3, and 1. I was born and raised in Missouri and still live here. I love to watch the seasons change here!

I have been married to my sweetie almost 9 years now. Amazing considering we only knew eachother 6 months when we got married. He's a wonderful man!

My hobbies are singing, reading, scrapbooking, crocheting, gardening, geneaology, and anything else that strikes my fancy at the time LOL! I have 3 birds, 2 budgies and a Nanday Conure, 3 dwarf hamsters and a 20 gallon fish tank loaded with fish. I guess my animals are another one of my hobbies.

I was recently diagnosed with Fibromyalgia so I have been spending a lot of my time reading about that as well. I am an information hound and love to learn about new things. The library probably thinks I'm a speed reader with all the books I check out :)
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I really do believe that extraterrestrial life does exist somewhere out there. I can't believe that we alone in the universe with as large as it is and with as many galaxies that have been discovered.

I honestly don't think that we will make contact anytime soon because I really think that they are probably too far away. I think that when the day comes that we do make contact that the benefits would be tremendous as far as the knowledge that we could share with eachother and the abilities to learn more about the universe. The only real dangers I can think would be if they are hostile. Which with their amount of technology, if they could reach us, I would think that they have learned to live in peace. Also, I believe that the religious cults would have a really difficult time accepting the proof of life outside our planet.

I do believe that we should send out some sort of beacon. I honestly don't know what we should include on it, maybe something about the human race and our different cultures.

I run SETI@home because I think it's interesting and feel priviledged that I could be contributing to the research being done to find life out there. I really think that the project is very interesting and hope that it continues until life is discovered. I think it is an essential part of our welfare as a race to explore the universe and find other places that we can move to, as our planet and solar system will not be around forever.
