Profile: Womprats

Personal background
I am 50 years old, a resident of the United States, married and father of 2 kids. I was born in Manhattan, Kansas and raised in Northport, Alabama. After graduating from college at the University of Alabama with a BS in geology in 1974, I entered the Army for over 5 years due to a low draft number. I have continued serving in a Reserve capacity since my release from active duty to the present day. While on active duty, I got my MS in business administration in 1980. I have since worked for the federal government in various capacities, but primarily as a Logistics Management Specialist. I got a BS in computer management information systems in 1997. After retirement, I plan on picking up some knowledge on space physics. I have multiple hobbies, from devouring books to golf and camping, but find most of my time devoted right now to raising my 2 kids properly; as this is my legacy to the future. I have traveled extensively; throughout Europe, Eurasia, Northern Africa, Korea, Australia, New Zealand, and the US. I plan on extensive travel to places I have not been after retirement. Number one on my list of places to visit is Hawaii and the islands of the South Pacific. That should keep me busy for a while.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think this is a worthwhile project because people from all around the Earth, who are interested in this science, can participate on a personal level. It does not matter about your ancestry, religion, financial worth, political affiliation, or any other factors except for a connection to the internet and a desire to improve the knowledge of mankind.
