Personal background
I'm 22 years old from North Carolina. I'm a radio disk jockey and college student. Recently, I took an astronomy class to help fill in some science credit hours. Little did I know, but that one class changed my life. I've lived the last few years as a "public figure". I started off working as a television show host, but after a change in managment at that station I switched over to radio.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
After taking this one single astronomy class I've been contemplating giving broadcasting up completely and working toward a degree in astro physics. I never realized how truly magnificent the world of astronomy was. Now that I've taken my first step into learning it, I am hooked. I learned a little about the SETI program from that class. From there I went on and studied the program a bit more. It is, in my opinion, one of the most profound journeys humanity has ever set out on. It is one way in which we are finally beginning to look beyond our earthly social issues and beginning to reach further out into the cosmos for a greater sense of unity. Our species is itself a miracle, but it is my belief that we are not the only miracle in the universe. I hope that SETI can continue far into the future and I plan to contribute to the program in any ways I possibly can.
