1. Extraterrestial life DOES EXIST!! The universe is so large that it would be egoistic to think, we are the only planet with intelligent life on it. I don't know how WE will discover other lifeforms or if they will discover US ... anyhow, the time will come. Humanity could benefit from new technology, but also it could be dangerous, if the visitors are not the friendly type of aliens ...
2. If we transmit a beacon, it will be too slow to reach someone in a reasonable time. We should develop the technology to travel with higher speeds - somewhat like we all know from the StarTrek-movies.
3. The project is cool and there is still a chance to find the so-wanted spikes one day .... let's hope the ETI sends in our frequencies.
