Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home

Personally, I was always wondering, seeing such powerful distributed computing project like SETI@Home. I find really intresting how can they persuade us to do take part of this enormous project, therfore they can run this project at low cost. The most of the time they don't have to pay for even the telescope time. I think this project -the largest of all distributed computing projects- just like that was building pyramides. The daily dedicated 1300 Cpu years and the more than four million registred users give an incredible computing power, which will help us to process de "stellar noise" collected from the space, expecting to find a valuable result.

Furthermore it's not a bad result seeing -such a relative small country like- Hungary takes place in 23. row, by the returned number of workunits, over all of the countries of the world. We left behind us China, Brazil and Russian Federation!
