| I am 48 years old and live in Hanover Park, Illinois, about 30 miles west of Chicago. I am interested in astronomy, archaeology (especially Egyptology) and astrology. I hope I am lucky enough to be one of those who find candidates for SETI to study further. |
| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

| I think SETI is a wonderful project. I have no doubt that there are many extraterrestrial civilizations in our our own galaxy as well as in others. The odds are so much in favor of it. If the day comes when we do make contact, I hope the governments of our world treat it diplomatically, but with caution. There really is no guarantee that the "ETs" will be interested in a friendly relationship. But we can hope! I am not sure sending our own beacon is necessary, we transmit so much on a daily basis in our own communications, but, then again, TV and radio signals might be confusing. I was pleased that AOL featured the SETI@home project. I just upgraded my processor so I can run it 24/7. I like being part of something so important. Thank you for this opportunity! |
