Personal background
Hi! Hello there I am Hemant Nene from Sivsagar, Assam, India and I am 41. I am an Engineering graduate and serve in a Govt. undertaking. My hobbies include astronomy and astrophysics (To the extent I understand it), Science, Travel etc. I got introduced to SETI by a friend of mine and thought it was a good idea to do my bit for the search from home as well as office. I have also lent my PC for other distributed computing projects working for a noble causes such as finding a cure for cancer, aids etc. My mom expired a couple of years ago of cancer. Hope my profile inspires many more youth spread across the globe to aid in scintific projects desperately needing huge computing power. Mine is just a pentium III 500 Mhz but Iam doing my bit. Bye now.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
It probably does exist and waiting to be found sooner or later, I just hope they are friendlier. If they are sentient beings as we are, we are destined to meet some day. It cant be prevented. Pioneer and Voyager have had interesting information about human evolution and its progress encoded on them I suppose same should be sent regularly. I run SETI Project on my PC for my own satisfaction of having contributed to the search with whatever little means I have at my disposal. It shouldnt quit until it has found the evidence. Its doing great allright.
