Personal background
'Hello World'

This is the first phrase used for practical during our first computing lesson. Thought it would be a suitable greeting to everyone out there and beyond.

I'm Eugene and I am from Singapore. I graduated with A bacholors degree in Anmimal Biology and A Masters in Communication Managment. Am currently pursuing my Masters degree in Design. I loved Biology but found my calling in design hence my further studies in the design field. I've always found inspiration in Nature and discovering applications and adaptations in nature for various designs is my goal. I am currently working as an Art Director in a deign firm called Right Brain Wave of which I am a partner.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Our human brain has allowed Mankind to be the superior race on the our planet. We create technologies to extend our lifespans and allow us to achieve what we cannot by our own power. I often wonder: is this power to thrive a part of Natural Selection of the species?

And if natural selection should find its way past the technology, should we find ourselves helplessly without technology one day, are we that superior after all? In that case, didn't Man artificially selected ourselves to survive this long? Did we halt out own natural evolution or are we long overdue for expiry?

Finding life outside this world would reveal that we care not that superior after all and hopefully remind us how frail and small a speck we all are in the vast universe. It would be like standing in a vast open field during sunset looking up into the sky and realising how beautiful and magnificent nature is and how small and insignificant we really are.

I hope technology wil help Mankind reach this revalation sooner before it leads to our destruction. Then perhaps Mankind can finally take its next step in its long overdue evolution progress.
