Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I believe there exists extraterrestrial life. I am not sure if
there exists intelligent extraterrestrial life, though. We need
to find out.
While we should be looking for others Out There, I don't think
we should transmit beacons to reveal our existence, nor location.
There are no guarantees that the Others will be friendly.
I run SETI@Home since I believe it is a worthwhile project and a
good use of spare CPU.
