Personal background
I'm a multifaceted person who works as a Telecommunications (Data Networks Primarily) Designer/Engineer for a large Ivy League University with approximately 20 years of experience in Electrical & Telecommunication Designing, yet I'm also a Volunteer Firefighter/EMS Provider who's been in the Volunteer business since 1997.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
There are two reasons I run SETI@Home, (1) Arricebo is run by the University I work for, (2) the Universe is too big to not have intelligent life at another location, somewhere out there!

My views about the project are when a reliable signal is found, it's going to change our whole philosophy on life and change the direction of our society. Maybe instead of paying sports players millions for a few years contracts, we will begin to understand the values of science & math a little more. Hopefully this will initiate the changes needed for increasing our worldly heath, both environmentally, and sociologically.

The only suggestions I have is to keep crunching numbers, and don't stop looking.
