Personal background
I was born at 1968 7th of june in Budapest, in Hungary. I have a family and have two very nice daughters. My main hobby is astronomy since i was a child. My older daughter is like me, she loves spending some time behind my Newton tube, and she is only 8 years old, but knows a lot of things about our solar system, planets, etc., she knows more than usually normal for she's age. :)
I'm using sati@home since a few years, to help the Seti people their work to find THAT signal. I'm really sure, that in the near future we will find that signal, what we are looking for. The universe is incredibel big, and it's impossible that we, humans are the only one out there. It's not worth to spend that whole space for only one planet, for us.
The future is for our childrens, not only for us. So our first point is to give a better future to our childrens. And i think to find intelligent live forms outside our earth could make better our live, and specially the live our childrens. If not other, than to be shure that we are not alone! Just look at the sky on a clear night! Than think about it, how many lifeforms could be out there? I think a lot of them. The only thing we should do, to find them. And that's what Seti@home is doing! The right job! Thanks Seti. :)
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think, no i know, that there are other lifeforms outside earth, it's only a question of time when we will find them. I think it should be happen in the next years, but possible is that we will find them tomorrow of today. We are on the right way. We have found in the last time a lot of extrasolar planets, in other solar systems. I think if we find the Signal, and we get in any way in contact with them, then it will not dramatically change our life. If they are in a lower technical status than us, therefore, but if they are on a higher, much higher leven then us, then they have to know also, that if they accept the contact with us, that will have a negative effect to us, because then our normal growing technical status will have a break. In that case, they will wait to that point, when we are on a level to accept their presence. Who knows, it's also possibble, that they was here, or they are here on Earth...
But i think we have to proceed the search, and yes, we should give a shout, that we are here. We should send signals and informations about us. The first step was the Voyager, but it's not enough. We should send signals on the galaxial frequencies, continuously. Signals, like mathematical or logical formulas, but should kept it easy.
So, just go ahead Seti. I'll run your soft in all of my computers in the past, and will tell about the project to anyone who has interest in that topic.
You are making a good job, and you are on the best way to find the signal what were looking for!
