Personal background
I'm just your typical networking junkie, got my ccna when I was 17, moved onto bigger things, then rediscovered Astronomy in a big way, I'm now working toward getting into NC State for a masters in Astrophysics, gonna be hard [=.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. Life HAS to exist out there, so many systems so many planets, so many chances, there must be millions out there, but the universe is so young, that we, just might be the first civilization to arise out of everything, which, if is true, the univirse is an overly lonely place for us to be.
2. I'd say we should send prime numbers, because modernized civilizations would recognize math as a standard language.
3. I run seti to keep my computer on all the time, and it would be a waste not to let it do seti, and help out science in a small way, but with all the other users here doing it to, it must help in a BIG way. Lets just hope that we can help them find something [=
