Personal background
I am a Software Engineer from Calapan City, Philippines. I work in a small offshore software company in Batangas City. I love to surf the net to find out what else can the web offer me other than the usual info that almost everybody on the web got. Since childhood I am an avid reader, and the topics that excites me most are those things like the Head Statue of the Easter Islands, the Pyramid of Egypt, the Mayan Civilization and the Incan Civilization. At some point of my researches, I always noticed that some of the technologies they used are somewhat impossible for that time. Could it be there are other form of intelligence not from our world that helped them?
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I cannot find any evidence to disprove possibility of existence of other intelligent forms in other part of the universe. There maybe exists some kind of planetary system similar to our solar system and from that, there could exists a planet like earth which can harbor life forms. If the people of the old civilization had experienced seeing those E.T.s, maybe they would put them in their annals as 'GODS' of other superior being. There are possible dangers of that discovery but I think it would be to them because, having the kind of technology to travel from afar, I also think that their level of intelligence has eliminated the destructive nature of human. They maybe in danger due to the natural response of human to other species that as an instinct may think that aliens can be dangerous to his own existence. If we could transmit beacons, we could tell them 'hello, world!' err..'Hello, universe!'. I don't think we need to send beacons for them. If they have the technology, they already scanned the surface of the earth and already gathered information about us.

I run SETI@home because I want to find my first E.T. :) Just want to help the research community with the idle time of my computers. The project seems to be costly. I hope we find our first E.T. so that the fruits of your toil will be reaped. Good luck and more power to the SETI@home staff.
