I'm a 23-year-old single mother living in Yeadon, Pennsylvania. Web-design is my hobby and my profession, and fortunately, I can do the vast majority of my work from home. I have a precocious not-quite-2-years-old daughter named Clorissa to keep me company.
I'm a geek, and proud of it. For fun, I teach myself coding languages or new technologies to apply in my web-endeavors, currently being well-acquainted with Macromedia's Flash 5, Metacreation's Poser, Bryce and Painter, Adobe's Photoshop and various other image creation/manipulation programs, as well as Javascript, the powerful PHP/MySQL combination, and a smattering of Perl.

| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

I saw a special on SETI@Home, a documentary. I found it fascinating at the time, and was a bit annoyed that the program didn't mention that I myself could download the program. I assumed that only a few select people were priviledged to take part in this research, and was more than a bit envious.
Do I believe that extraterrestrial life exists? Of course I do-- why -wouldn't- it? The odds are astronomically -for- the possibility of not only other life forms existing on some other planet -somewhere- within this universe, but that it is as intelligent as us.
From a Christian's point of view, we were created for a specific purpose, and the first of humankind sort of subverted that purpose through the initial disobedience. We were a failed experiment. Who's to say that the Grand Creator didn't try again, somewhere else?
I truly appreciated the point of view that the movie 'Contact' took on the matter:
"The Universe is a pretty big place, it's bigger than anything anyone has ever dreamed of before. So if it's just us, seems like an awful waste of space, right?"
