I joined up after reading information about it from Real Life Comics. I joined their SETI group.
Let's see...about myself. I guess technically I'm a freshman at Iowa State University. Although I havn't started classes yet (when I wrote this). Majoring in computer sciences. I'm an anime/video game nerd, there's no better way to describe it.
Some of my favorite animes:
Cowboy Bebop
Excel Saga
Lain (despite the mind numbing side effects from watching it)
All Purpose Cultural Catgirl Nuku Nuku (I have a 'slight' obession with catgirls)
Record of Lodoss War
Some of my favorite games:
Lunar, Silver Star Story Complete (PSone)
Metal Gear Solid 2 (PS2)
Super Smash Bros Melee (GC)
Xenogears (PSone)
Xenosaga Episode I (PS2)
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
So far I have to say that this is a very impressive program. Linking up millions of users, each one processing a small amount of information. Now that's teamwork that an elementry school physical education teacher could be proud of.
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
