Personal background
Hi there,

I'm Tom, living in the Netherlands (Great country by the way). I'm only 16 years old and a student. I like to play some music on my synthesizer, but also love to surf the Internet.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Well, I do believe in extraterrestrial life. Why? Because the universe is so big and so exremely huge, that it's unbelieveble that we, as human beings, are the only living creatures. The more people uses Seti@Home, the faster they will find extraterrestrial life. But what about the dangers? I really don't think that UFO's gonna blow up the earth if the find out that we have discovered there living. But I do think that they will 'visit' our earth, if so.
We in the Netherlands have no idea what 'transmitting a beacon' means, so I don't know an answer on that question.

I run Seti@Home on a computer with 450 Mhz.... It's going a little bit slow. My computer have submitted 11 data units in 128 hours!! But it's worth I think. It's good that much people are using Seti@home, but it's better if more people going to use it. The project is very clear: Finding some extraterrestrial life. And our technology is not that far, that we can fly to find it, so we have to search for it with telescopes....

And at last: I really don't have suggestion, the current program is good enough.. I really hope that more people are going to use this wonderful program!
