Hi all!
I am Marcio Teixeira from Brazil. I've studied Physics with a M.Sc. in Nuclear Physics. Nowadays I work for a major telecom supplier as consultant. My major duties are design and optmize mobile telephone networks. I used to work on radio department and now I changed to core network (i.e. telephone switches).
My hobbies include amateur radio (call sign VE2SAO, got it when I
lived in Montreal), climbing, hiking and reading. I also try to keep up with science discoverys, specially those related to astronomy, astrophysics and ultra cool atoms.

| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

Well, SETI is all about that famous ancient question "are we alone here?". Joining our efforts we can, perhaps, answer this question one day. It is a
great idea to use idle machine times for that. Normally I leave my iMac G4
doing the work while I am at office.
I think SETI is doing the right way, listening before broadcasting we're here.
However it is very hard to seek in the whole spectrum for some intelligent signals. That's why we should have more and more people cooperating. Besides helping the SETI project you'll have a cool screensaver! |
